Lighting Living Lab was present on October 18, 2023, at the Shop4CF Meetup, an event that brought innovation and automation into the spotlight. Organized by Shop4CF, an organization committed to finding the right balance between economic automation and promoting worker adaptability, creativity, and agility, the event brought together various experts and speakers.

The meeting kicked off with Dr. João Veloso, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Aveiro, who opened the event, highlighting the institution’s projects and educational offerings. Diego Carvajal, a Technical Engineer at the University of Madrid, shared valuable insights in several presentations, covering topics such as “Introducing human-centered robotic solutions in production lines with Shop4CF,” “Technologies and components behind Shop4CF,” and “How to access Shop4CF resources.”

Next up was Maria Roca, Leader of DIHs at Fundingbox, who focused on “funding opportunities” to drive innovation in the sector. Ágata Sequeira, representing IAPMEI, provided valuable information about European digital innovation centers.

Ola Sawicka Green, also from Fundingbox, shared insights on “How quality control can enhance automated manufacturing,” emphasizing the importance of quality in the automation process. Paulo Figueiras, from UNINOVA, presented a successful case study of Shop4CF methodologies.

In the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Institute of Telecommunications at the University of Aveiro. There, they could explore and get up close with various communication technologies being developed at the institution, highlighting the commitment to innovation and automation.

With a lineup of prominent speakers and visits to cutting-edge facilities, the event provided a comprehensive view of current trends in the world of automation and technological innovation.
