On March 8, 2023, Lighting Living Lab had the honor of attending the open day of the Escola Superior de Tecnologias de Águeda (ESTGA).

Several classes from different regions attended, focusing on programming, automation, and other branches of technology. During the event, we introduced our members, the technologies they use, and some of the projects in which LLL has been or is involved. We also brought a model that simulated energy generation from photovoltaic panels and how different angles of exposure to light could affect their efficiency. The model generated great interest among students, with many showing interest in understanding how it was developed and how they could adapt it to their own projects. Additionally, we showcased a Global Energy Meter (GEM) and explained the advantages it provides in making homes and businesses more energy-efficient.

Regarding education, we expressed our desire to work closely with schools, offering study visits, lectures, and even helping students find internships or develop their ideas. This aligns with the Lighting Living Lab’s vision of playing an active role in communities, particularly in shaping the next generation.

We entend our gratitude to ESTGA for the opportunity and hope to repeat the experience in the future.
